How we work

The evidence behind our guides, and the limits of a researched review.

Start with the buying question

Each guide addresses a specific task. We separate choosing a category from comparing two approaches and examining one model, so the reader can find the level of detail the decision needs.

Research the exact version

We consult manufacturer product pages, US manuals, care instructions, standards guidance, and official Amazon help where relevant. For model analyses, we check the model number, market, and included components. A sheet-pan bundle may include a rack with different care limits. Left- and right-hand mouse versions can have different controls and model numbers.

We keep source records internally, including the date checked and the claims they support. Our public articles present the practical explanation in our own words rather than reproducing a source catalogue.

Explain what the facts mean

Dimensions matter when they describe the assembled item and its access path. An appliance noise figure needs its operating mode and measurement conditions. A water-filter claim belongs with the certified system and cartridge. We use tables, checklists, and clearly labeled hypothetical calculations to make those details usable.

Be clear about testing

Our researched reviews are documentary analyses. We have not physically tested the products featured in this edition. We do not invent lab results, personal experience, or customer feedback. Specifications and manufacturer claims are not independent test results.

Use honest visuals and dates

Photographs illustrate the subject or buying task. A thematic stock photograph is not evidence of the exact reviewed product. An original diagram explains cabinet measurements; numerical examples are labeled.

Each article has its actual publication date. A substantive revision receives an updated date. Routine site builds do not make an old article newly updated.

Shopping links and corrections

Some Amazon links are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. The store controls its listings, prices, availability, and order terms.
